GAZPROM SCHWEIZ IS THE GAZPROM GROUP COMPANY THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROCURING NATURAL GAS FROM THE CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES OF KAZAKHSTAN AND UZBEKISTAN. THESE COUNTRIES HAVE AROUND 21 trillion cubic metres OF PROVEN NATURAL GAS RESERVES, REPRESENTING AROUND
11% OF THE WORLD’S TOTAL.

GAZPROM Schweiz is also responsible for transporting the natural gas from Central Asia to Europe, where it is then sold. Around 75 % of the natural gas goes to Gazprom export, and GAZPROM Schweiz sells the remaining gas directly to its own buyers in Central Asia and Europe – for example, to local gas providers in southern Kazakhstan, or on newly developed markets in south-east Europe such as Romania, Croatia, and Macedonia.

GAZPROM Schweiz AG’s business activities in Switzerland are supported through collaborations and investments where necessary; this includes a shareholding in Uzbek natural gas producer Gissarneftgaz and, on the sales side, in utility companies in Austria and Italy.
